Partnering with the Knights of Columbus to support local charities
The Knights of Columbus Council 3909 of Walden/Copper Cliff has been serving the Greater Sudbury Community for the past 63 years. The Knights of Columbus is primarily a fraternal organization focused on helping the widows and children of their members, and engage in charitable work in the community. They financially support many charitable organizations in the Sudbury area such as Maison McCullough Hospice, Sudbury/Manitoulin Children Foundation, Childhood Enfance Breakfast Program, Alzheimer Society, Walden Christmas Food Hampers, Arthritis Society, Camp Quality, CTV Lions Christmas Telethon, as well as the Catholic Parishes of Walden and Copper Cliff.
The Council has been participating in Charitable Gaming fundraising at Delta Bingo and Gaming Sudbury for the past 7 years and raises between $12,000 and $15,000 annually. All funds raised are donated to local groups that provide a direct benefit to the people in the community. The funds from the gaming centre are critical to financially support all the organizations they donate to. Participating as a volunteer charitable organization in cGaming has allowed them to financially support a large range local charitable and medical organizations.
