Chartered in 1974, the Zonta Club of Brampton-Caledon is pleased and proud to celebrate almost 42 years of service in the community. The Club responds to community needs by undertaking projects which address women’s economic self sufficiency, education, security and health. Local services are primarily dictated by their fundraising efforts. Over $700,000 has been returned back into the community serving over 40 organizations. The Zonta Club has been very active in the sponsoring and organizing of Z Clubs in high schools with the goal of preparing youth to become future leaders through service. Z Clubbers have the opportunity to learn valuable communication skills, as well as gain leadership experience through their service projects in the secondary school setting. The dollars raised through their fund raising projects have benefited many of the charities in the area. At 17 clubs, the Zonata Club of Brampton-Caledon has the highest number of Z Clubs world-wide and they also have one Golden Z Club at the university level. Last July, the Zonta Club resumed their bingo fund raising activities at Delta Bingo & Gaming Brampton.
