Supporting the Community
Developing programs over 30 years, Wendat Community Programs are focused on assisting members of the community who are elderly or experience mental health challenges. Their Lorna Tomlinson Residence, a 23-bed facility, provides housing for low-income seniors, congregate dining and day programs for elderly in the community.
One Wendat participant shared,
“When I first came to Wendat years ago, I struggled with anxiety disorder. Wendat allowed me to become more involved in the community, meet new friends, and that improved my anxiety tremendously. Wendat is like a second home to me. They welcome everyone here with open arms and a smile. It’s a great place to be, and I just love it.”
A Vital Collaboration
Wendat’s incredible work wouldn’t be possible without their partnership with Delta Bingo & Gaming in Penetanguishene. Through this vital collaboration, Wendat offers their programs free of charge ensuring access for the community and that their staff and volunteers can be on the front lines.
