Delta Pickering Celebrates $13.2 Million Milestone for Charitable Gaming
On February 21, 2020, Delta Bingo Pickering, along with the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association, celebrated over $13 million raised for the 62 local charities that partner with the gaming centre, supporting a range of community initiatives.
“Raising $13.2 million to benefit local charities and non-profit organizations in our community is a tremendous achievement,” said Peter Bethlenfalvy, MPP for Pickering-Uxbridge.
Ontario’s Charitable Bingo and Gaming Revitalization initiative launched at Delta Pickering 15 years ago. This program is delivered through a partnership between Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG), the Ontario Charitable Gaming Association (OCGA), the Commercial Gaming Association of Ontario (CGAO), local charities and gaming and bingo centre operators.
“The City of Pickering is very proud of its community partnership with Delta Bingo and Gaming, Ontario Lottery and Gaming and the 62 charities and not-for-profits that have contributed $13.2 million for important programs and services in our city,” said Mayor Dave Ryan. “Due to the significant efforts of the many volunteers, all of these funds remain in our community and benefit the residents of Pickering and surrounding area.”
In total, 32 Charitable Gaming Centres across the province have raised more than $274 million for local charities in their communities.
